Ni Uwacu Foundation (NUF)

About us

Our Foundation

Ni Uwacu Foundation (NUF) was established with the vision of creating a more inclusive society for individuals with disabilities. Our journey began with a small group of passionate advocates who recognized the need for tailored support and resources. Over the years, we have grown into a robust organization dedicated to empowering those we serve, helping them realize their potential and build a life of self-reliance. Our foundation is built on the belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to thrive.

Our Vision for the Future

Looking ahead, Ni Uwacu Foundation (NUF) envisions a society where individuals with disabilities are not just included but celebrated for their unique abilities. We are dedicated to expanding our outreach and services, ensuring that no one is left behind. Our goal is to create a sustainable support system that not only addresses immediate needs but also fosters long-term independence. Together, we can build a future where every individual can shine and show just how powerful they are.

Our Mission

At Ni Uwacu Foundation (NUF), our mission is clear: to strengthen and support individuals with disabilities, enabling them to lead independent and fulfilling lives. We strive to provide comprehensive resources, training, and advocacy that empower our community. By fostering a culture of empowerment, we aim to demonstrate the incredible capabilities of individuals with disabilities, showcasing their strengths and contributions to society. Our commitment to our mission fuels everything we do.

The logo of the organization

This organization has the logo of two coloured circles and each circle has its own colour and message: the first circle has the black colour which represents the dark life of sadness, loneliness, losing hope. In this black colour circle we also see three people who look as helpless ones who need help. We also see there one person in front of those three who is trying to show them that he wants them to reach to him because he wants to help them. In this same circle we see the shining sun which represents the hope of life. We see the opened Bible in that circle witch shows the truth of the word of God and lastly we find the two branches surrounding the Bible which represent the prosperity.
God in his divinity; he is merciful and graceful, he also wants us to imitate him in our daily life and when you read the scripture in “Mathew 25:31-40” we see when Jesus is back to judge all nations where he will sort people according to what they did when they were alive on this world. The deeds are very interesting/meaningful thing in the kingdom of God because in this passage we are seeing that those who did good works especially those who were merciful and graceful ones will be inherited the Kingdom of God, which shows that we are called to have kind hearts which are ready to help and support all those helpless people.
The second circle contains the two stars represent the light and being the example and inspirer to others and it’s where is written the name of the organization “Ni Uwacu Foundation”. The abbreviation “NUF” that we find in this circle is the short of organization name.

Our Beliefs

We Ni Uwacu Foundation believe that when God says about ” My people”, he does not mean only people who don’t have disabilities, he includes all those disabled people too. It means that they may go to heaven too or perished too if they do not get saved. God see all people equal and he wants them to return to him and serve him as well. Everyone had been given the ability to worship and serve the Lord using his/her spiritual gifts. All of us were created in the image of God and we were given Jesus to die on the cross on our behalf which shows how equal we are in God’s sight (John 1:12-13, 3:16-18).

All people were given different gifts as it is written in the word of God which is the ability to serve the Lord in his Kingdom (Ephesians 4:8, 4:11, 1Corintians 12:20). That’s why all those people who have disabilities must be treated well too so that they may accomplish God’s purpose.

Testimonials

Testimonies is the essential activity in NI UWACU FOUNDATION, because it helps us to know each other which helps to pray for one another. Parents of the children who have disabilities use to be told bad words to discourage them and it is the same to these children. Testimonies are needed in order to encourage each other where a parent shares how it is to have a child who has disabilities, how neighbors and family members treat them.

Disabled people lifestyle

People who have disabilities are all those who were born without some of their body parts, those who were born with all of their parts but some of their parts do not function properly, and those who had their functioning parts and stopped functioning or get cut off because of different reasons.
These people use to be in unworthy life because many people do not see them as useful  ones among their societies, and they treat them as if they are useless and lose many opportunities including:
Losing the opportunity to go to school
Losing the ability to go to church so that they may get preached
Moral torture basing on how they are
Being imprisoned in their families,
They don’t get vaccinated or get medicines because of some of their parents who may see them as if they will not achieve any goal in their lives
They get violated and justice is far from them because sometimes they cannot claim because different of reasons such as fear, miscommunication, etc
They don’t have their own properties because of some of their families which cannot inherit them as their kids
It is very difficult to communicate with them depending on their disabilities
